I agree that we should be switching to renewable sources for our primary source of energy, but I don't think it needs to happen super fast. I hope you will talk about the cost of using these as energy sources, and how long it will take to switch over to make them our primary energy source.
I agree with you. We need to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, especially. If we switch to renewable energy, we are preserving our precious natural resources and can become more autonomous in our energy consumption by producing our own energy, thereby reducing our need to purchase fossil fuels from unstable countries at high prices and we don't have to deface beautiful natural areas such as the Arctic Nat'l Wildlife Refuge to find more fossil fuels.
I agree that we should be using more renewable energy. The question in my mind is who is going to pay for these new facilities and are they in addition to or replacing existing ones. Can existing plants be converted over, at least in part, to save on infrastructure costs? Corinna
I totally agree with Kathy! I was devistated even when the Bush Admin. brought up drilling in ANWR several years ago. It's just not worth it. When are we ever going to end this unhealthy relationship with oil and fossil fuels? I think you have a great subject and I can't wait to hear more about it! I know that it will take a while, but I believe this is something that should be at the top of the agenda. -Brittany
I disagree, I think that we should go with more reliable methods of providing energy. While it would be great if we could focus on cleaner energies, it's still not viable throughout the majority of the country and the cost can be pretty intense.
I love your thesis. I agree that we should be. I look forward to your persuasion. There have been significant advances in many of these areas. I believe you will present a compelling argument.
Your first speech was great! I am personally interested in these types of power and would even like to experiment with them for my family's use. But, our demand for energy is extraordinary. I don't know how effective these alternatives would be give our lifestyle. I am willing to make some changes (like unplugging appliances :)) but can you speak to how hospitals, factories and cities would fare?
Good point! Renuable energy is the safest and least polluting. However, there is it's danger as well, for example the hydro-electro-stations is indangering the area past its water stream. However, the planet is ill with all the exhausts, and we should make a least bad choice in order to survive.
I agree. The US should use efficient methods in providing energy. They should put times in research and developing new concept of creating energy. Anything that is good to human as well as the environment should be seriously look at. Your topic is interesting and I am looking forward to learn from it.
i agree that we need to change our sourses. we cant rely on fossil fuels very much longer, but a decision has to be made and soon because many of these alternatives are expensive and time consuming, we dont want to wait until it is too late.
I am not sure where i stand on this issue. I am concerned about how reliable these other methods are, and how much extra money we will be needing to spend. Jennie
Good! I don't think anyone can disagree with that. All of these sources can be utilized very easily, especially with new technology being established everyday. I can see a future powered by green and renewable sources such as the ones you have shown.
I agree. This will help our fight against pollution and green house gases. These resources our infinite and now days we are finding more efficient ways to use these resources
I agree, if there will be ensurence that the switch to the energy sources will be beneficial for final consumer. It will happen eventually, and it seem as the time for it has ...
I agree. Climate-change concerns, along with high oil prices are urgent enough reasons for us to use natural sources such as sunlight, wind, tides and geothermal heat to supply our energy. Great thesis!

I agree with this, it would be much more efficient if we used energy sources that could be used over and over and over.
