I agree that the government should have stricter laws about abortion. Everyone have to realize how important is the role of sex in our live, and how dangerous can it be not to prevent the obstacles. There is a debate, whether it is a murder to kill a little baby inside the body, or not. I belive it is.
I believe that abortion should not be illegal but i believe that it is a womans choice but there should be regulations on it because it should not be a birth control method. The regulations on it should be strict but forgiving if you were to outlaw abortion, women would just go to more dangerous ways of going about doing it. One regulation should be about what trimester it should be done in and what is the latest that a abortion can be preformed. I also believe that women that get them should go to support groups and some sort of counseling because it can do a number on one psych. state. When is it murder? it also sort of ties into murder cases such as the scott peterson case he was charged with two counts of murder! his unborn son and his wife
GOOD thesis Cant wait to hear what you have to say!!
i think this is a subject where there is no black or white and the government should not be able to put a strict law against what a woman can or cannot do to their bodies. i definatly agree with melanie when she said too many people are using it as a birth control method and many woman are taking abortion very lightly. people should be held responsible for their actions but i dont think stricter laws will solve anything- before abortion was legalized, women used to throw themselves down flights of stairs, have others kick them in the abdomin to kill the baby, or another do it themseves procedure: with a hanger. no matter how strict the laws are, people are always gonna find a way to do it.
I do not believe the government has the right to determine when and if an individual has an abortion. If you look at statistics on female mortality when abortion were illegal and performed "under the table", women put themselves at serious health risk and death. Abortions are not always performed because of poor planning. At what point do you force a raped woman to have a child or a 14 year old girl. Babies who are determined to have serious health conditions in womb, and the parents do not have the ability to take care of that child long term. There are too many variables for the government to have a regulation which controls each scenario. Corinna
I would definitely agree that there should be stricter laws on abortion, and I think that starts with defining the term you used in your actual thesis: "acceptable". Who determines if an abortion is "acceptable" or "unacceptable"? In your informative speech, I remember you talking about pro-choice and pro-life, but I don't remember you talking about the government's role as much. I'm a little confused because I don't really feel like your thesis is taking a side in the debate.
I agree with Mia on this topic. It would be hard to put such strict laws on something that isn't black and white. Currently, I beleive that they're are indivdual state laws. I think that these laws work pretty well. I am pro-choice, however, only up until a certain point. I am (for the most part) against late abortions, or in the third trimester. Except if there fetus has fetal anomalies or severe birth defects. Lots of time this just leads to suffering for both the child and parents and many times the parents don't even have enough money to care properly for the child. Thus, I do think that abortion roles maybe need to be revised, however, not necissarily stricter. A woman should have a right to do what she pleases with her body. And like what many others have already stated, we know without laws premitting them to do so, they often try to sovle it by themselves and put themseleves in a dangerous situations. -Brittany
I DO believe there need to be stricter laws on abortion. I do not believe that abortion should be legal. Yes, a woman has the right to do with her body as she pleases, but human life begins at conception and abortion is killing that life form. Life is beautiful and we should not be making it so easy to be taken away. I believe that a law should be passed to end abortion. There are many other alternatives if someone cannot raise a baby, such as adoption. Perhaps one solution is to revise the adoption process.
I agree and I certainly believe that there should be stricter laws on abortions. Should abortion be COMPLETELY banned? No. But I only believe that it should be applied in strict situations where there are outside circumstances (ie. imminent danger to the mother, to the fetus, rape.).
In general, I do not support abortion. I do agree that stricter regulations would result in fewer abortions, so I support your thesis from that perspective.
i dont believe in abortion, it may not be their fault for rape, or whatever but it happened and you cant make that go away no matter what. however i doubt that abortion is going to go away, and if it were illegal women will still find a way to do it, and it could be dangerous if they are not in a hospital or some other clean envionment with clean tools. but i do agree that there should be stricter laws about it.
I agree. The government should have strict laws in regulating abortion. If we have such laws, the rate of abortion would decrease. More people would think seriously because there is law out there that control abortion. In term of baby, i'll rather keep the baby than kill it. But that is just my opinion, hope to learn new thing from this.
In my personal opinion the government should not have control over when abortion is legal. This is not something that can be governed by law. Abortion should be a well educated choice made by the woman and or couple in question. Sometimes abortion is the only choice and sometimes it is just one that women make but it still should be their decision
I agree that abortion should remain a legal, surgical procedure done humanely and performed only by professionals for women whose life is in danger, have been raped, are the victim of incest, or are on the verge of a psychotic break.
I disagree. Our system right now does have regulations on when a women can get an abortion. I think we need to stop the abortion debate and start worrying about how we treat humans once they are born.
I disagree. I think that the mother needs to be well educated on her decision, but ultimately that choice needs to be left up to her. She is the only one who knows whats best for her, and shouldn't have other people decide for her. Jennie
I am uncertain. As some have said, people might still find ways to do things just as wrong as abortion, but it would not be a bad thing to address the issue.
