From the conversations I've had with you on the subject I agree. We could minimize alot of other things if we focused on more efficient and reliable energy sources like nuclear.
I do not necessarily agree that nuclear energy is the best answer. The cost and danger of the waste by-products is high and we already have enough toxic garbage in our oceans and landfills. I am not 100% positive but I believe there are some natural resources which are non-renewable in the process as well. We need to use renewable resources. Corinna
This is interesting for me to respond to, due to the fact that my speech is opposing this. However, nuclear is not viewed as a very reliable source because of unsolved problem of what to do with nuclear waste, the safety of nuclear power plants, and also nuclear power's non-renewablity. But I am looking forward to hearing your speech!
I'm not sure where I stand with this yet, just because I don't know enough on the topic. However, I am really interested in learning about different energy sources and to hear what you have to say! -Brittany
How do deal with radioactive waste? How do you safeguard against accidents like Chernobyl? It sounds like an ideal way of weening us off of fossil fuels and natural gas because its capacity for industrial output. Solar, wind and hydropower can't really compete. But, are we just creating a time bomb with each reactor facility? I'm really interested to hear more.
I am not sure at this point. Your topic is new to me so I did a little research. According to U.S department of energy, nuclear power is a resource capable of Nation's energy, environmental and national security needs. If a topic going from environmental to national security needs, then I am not sure. It is great if their interest is solely on the environment but going the other way, creating something else with it is indeed more harm than good.
i think that nuclear energy is a good idea for an emergency or if there is nothing else that we can come up with or as a substitue until we find a better alternative. the only problem that i have with nuclear energy is what to do with the waste. and it is very expensive, but it is clean for the air, and it does provide good energy. i am interested in hearing what you have to say.
Good thesis, shows us exactly your point and where you plan to focus your speech. I look forward to listening to your persuasive speech, as I missed your first one. Good luck!
I disagree. Nuclear Energy will continue to hurt us with foreign policy decisions, we have no idea what to do with the waste and one wrong move and thousands of people could be killed. It is to dangerous and we have other resources of energy.
I do agree. However, the nuclear enrgy program would have to be truly supported from both environmental and consumer points of view. It seems that it might be great way reduce electricity costs, and perhaps to make it possible to start potentially great projects that depend on electricity.
My concern with nuclear energy is, how do we, not only store, but also dispose of used nuclear fuel in a way that is safe, environmentally acceptable and makes sense economically? You touched on these concerns very well in your speech but I still need to know more before I can fully support this program. I'm looking forward to your persuasive speech!
I don't know much about nuclear energy but i am very excited to hear why you believe in this type of energy. Good thesis.

I am unsure where i stand on this issue because i do not know much about nuclear energy. i look forward to learning about it.

I also am pretty unaware about nuclear energy, but I am looking forward to learning about it in both your informative and persuasive speeches!

I should know some more about it in order to judge, but I believe you are going to state your claim. Good job(in advance).

I agree with this. With nuclear energy there will be a lot less polution. Although it is expensive, it provides a lot of energy for the price.
